KAIAPOI MILL

Resumption Of Production I All machines were running in normal production yesterday at the mill of the Kaiapoi Petone Group Textiles. Ltd.,' after the electrical fire on Thursday evening. The two injured men, Messrs J. W. Montagu and J. Mac Kay, were progressing as well as could be expected, said the mill manager (Mr 11. K Harrison) yesterday. Until the dressings are removed from their burns in five days’ time, the full extent of their injuries will not be known. The electrical and engineering staffs did not complete repairs until 5.30 a.in. yesterday. “The men did a pretty good job.” said Mr Harrison. “The repairs will serve for some time, but with a reduced safety margin for power.”
