Police Seek Driver

A cyclist, Mr H Spetch, aged 53, of 8 Mortlake street, Islington, suffered serious head injuries when struck by a car at the corner of Waterloo and Hei Hei road last evening. The driver of the ear apparently failed to stop. The police are making inquiries. Mr Spetch was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital. He was later reported to be semi-conscious, and his condition only fair. Any person who saw the accident is asked to get in touch with the motor accident branch at the Christchurch Central Police Station. The accident happened about 635 p.m.
