Mr M. J. O’Brien, a Wellington lawyer, has been elected chairman of the Council for Volunteer Service Abroad in succession to Professor C. C. Aikman who has been chairman since 1962. Trigance, commander of the R.N.ZA.F, base at Ohakea, has been promoted to air commodore and will command the R.N.Z-A.F. headquarters at Auckland when it is formed later this year.—(P.A.)
