Three years of club sacrifice end endeavour will be firmally recognised on Sunday when the Western soccer club’s ground in Westminster street is officially opened. The opening ceremony will be performed by the member of Parliament for St. Albans (Mr H. J. Walker), and the replies on behalf of the club will be made by the patron (Mr J. Storer) and the president (Mr J. Smith). This will be followed ty a match between a Canterbury XI and Western, which the provincial selector (Mr V. Smith) is using as a trial to select the Canterbury team to play Otago in the next representative match. 1
