Man Killed In Collision
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, July 2. A Whangarei Hospital patient was killed in Maunu road, Whangarei, at 5.25 p.m. yesterday when returning to the hospital on a scooter which was involved in a collision with a bus. He was Taiwhunga Lou Shortland, aged 22, of Whangarei. The scooter was extensively damaged. Mr Shortland was returning to hospital after being given leave to attend to business affairs.
