Obituary MR J. P. BROWN
The West Coast’s first international Rugby League representative, Mr John Patrick Brown, died in Greymouth on the week-end. Mr Brown toured Australia with the 1919 Kiwi team that was captained by W. J. Mitchell. During the West Coast Rugby League’s 50th Jubilee celebrations on Queen’s Birthday week-end Mr Brown was brought from hospital to attend the gathering and was given a long ovation.
Mr Brown was in his eightieth year and is survived by his five sons and four daughters.
