Ashburton Inquiries

After the First Tinwald Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday, A. J. Bourne was fined £lO for careless driving causing interference which resulted in Judene and Misty Haze receiving checks. After the Harvest Handicap an inquiry was held into the breaking of Fallax with less than a round to run. Evidence Was heard from G. D. Shand, the driver of Fallax, and D. C. Watts, the driver of Bob Again. It was found that J. B. Noble, the driver of Smart Lass, was guilty of careless driving causing interference, and he was fined £lO. Soldier Gal and Brigitte Bardot locked sulky wheels at the start of the same race. Brigitte Bardot was pulled up with a damaged sulky wheel.
