Surtees Wins In Canada (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) BOWMANVILLE (Ontario), June 6. The world motor-racing champion, John Surtees, of Britain, on Saturday won an international 200-mile race for sports cars in a Chevrolet-powered Lolo. His time of 2hr 2min 17.6 sec beat by more than five minutes the record for the meeting. Jim Hall, a Texas millionaire, completed 182 miles in his Chevrolet-powered Chaparral, and was second in spite of being forced out of the race with mechanical trouble. Third was Ludwig Heimrath, of Toronto.

Jim Clark, of Scotland, winner of the Indianapolis “500’’ last Monday, dropped out after 29 laps.
