Tsering Out Of Hospital
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) AUCKLAND, June 4. Two months, two days and one heart operation after arriving from Nepal. Tsering Topgyal was bidden farewell from the steps. Green Lane Hospitai today. A crowd of nurses and children gathered at the door to wave the 12-year-old Tibetan boy, whose name they have contracted to Tsetop, a cheery goodbye. “Bye, bye, Seetop. Be good.” called a Maori
nurse. “I’ll come and visit you sometime.”
A broad smile was the only reply. “You know,” said the nurse, “that boy has taught us a new language. It has smiles instead of words and I hope we never forget it.” With a bag of clothes and a paper package of games and books sent to him while in hospital, Tsering was taken by Mrs R. W. Haworth, secretary of the Save the Children Fund, to Titi-
rangi, where he will live with Mrs K. M. Miller while attending Rutherford High School, where she is a teacher.
Tsering and his Tibetan friend, Lithang Dorji, will spend the week-end at Mrs Miller’s home. Tsering will begin school on Tuesday. Mrs Haworth said that immigration regulations meant Tsering and Lithang would have to return to Nepal by the end of September.
