JOINING BALLET
A Christchurch ballet student has been selected to join the New Zealand Ballet in August for its next national tour. She is Miss Lyndsay McLachlan, a 19-year-oid hairdresser.
After concentrated work at the winter schools, held recently by the Christchurch Ballet Club, she auditioned for the New Zealand Ballet in Wellington last week, received news of her selection a few days later. “It has been my ambition to dance with the New Zealand Ballet for a long time,” she said yesterday. “And my mother has been behind me all the way.” Miss McLachlan has been dancing for 12 years. She began with Miss Gladys Bushell
and is now a pupil of Miss Marie Corser.
“Many Christchurch teachers have helped me,” she said
