NX’s most-tested mattresses At regular intervals a mattress is taken straight from the production line and tested to destruction. Vono units are subjected to the most gruelling punishment under an octagonal roller weighing 262 lbs. (about 19 stone). Vono stands up to an average of over 121,000 passes of this roller. As .well as ensuring that the mattresses conform to the original high-quality standards, these tests indicate any points of weakness beyond these standards, which can be corrected. Following these destruction tests, the mattress is taken to nieces and the failure analysed. This machine is also used to test shipments of new materials entering the factory, to ensure that the raw materials conform to the highest standards. Samples of new spring wire or ticking are immediately built into a mattress for testing, and put through the “torture” treatment. The advantage of such tests is that the materials are tested in actual use as a mattress and that all aspects of the mattress are tested. the only mattress with the extra comfort layer ofFLEXAFOAM Super soft support in the wonderful coddling comfort of polyurethane foam —the extra comfort feature in 4 of Vono’s new mattress range.
