COLOSTOMY CIRCLE

Benefits Of Membership There must be many in Christchurch who have had a colostomy or ileostomy operation but who are not aware of the immense benefits they could gain from membership of the Colostomy Circle, says a statement from the circle. The circle, formed about four years ago, aims to help rehabilitate those who have had such an operation. Its programme includes assistance with members’ general problems, encouragement to those who have just had the operation, and discussion of diets and treatments. Although the circle was the first of its kind in New Zealand, others now exist —there are now others in Dunedin and Wellington. The Christchurch centre of the Red Cross Society sponsors the circle and assists it in many ways, including the accommodation of its meetings. Inquiries should be addressed to the secretary of the society.
