PAKISTAN BORDER

Chou Attends Talks (N.'Z Press Assn.—Copyright) RAWALPINDI, June 3. The Chinese Prime Minister (Mr Chou En-Lai) and the Pakistan President (Mr Ayub Khan) have discussed the military confrontation between India and Pakistan. Informed sources said the President explained the military situation at length to obtain an understanding from the Chinese that India was responsible for the military posture against Pakistan and that in the event of a clash, the latter could expect at least moral help from Peking.

The sources said Mr Chou was not convinced India could afford to attack Pakistan or trigger a major clash soon.
