391 Killed On U.S. Roads (N.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) CHICAGO, May 31. Traffic fatalities neared a record total in the final hours of the Memorial Day holiday in the United States. Thirty-four died in seven crashes in five States. California had 16 dead in three accidents. The State counted 50 dead. Three hundred and ninetyone have died since 6 p.m. last Friday. The record for a Memorial week-end was 431 set last year.
