Snell, Clarke Keen To Break Records

(N Z. Press Association —Copyright > LOS ANGELES. June 2. New Zealand’s P. G. Snell and Australia’s R. G. Clarke are fit and ready to attack two of their world records in the Compton invitational track meeting in Los Angeles on Friday, United Press International reported.

Snell, the world’s top middle distance runner, arrived in Los Angeles yesterday determined “not to start with a bad performance” in the first of his two final United States appearances. “I don’t remember having lost a race in this country,” he said. However, he would not comment on the possibility of bettering his world mile mark of 3min 54.1 sec. Clarke, who holds every world running record from three to 10 miles, said he would attempt to better his
