Theft From Bicycle

Luck was out for a Christchurch pensioner last evening .After placing a bet at the Totalisator Agency Boards central office in Manchester street, Mrs V. Stuart, of 265 Kilmore street, walked outside to find her bicycle missing. It was found in the right of way by the office, minus the contents of a bag fastened on the back. These included wool to the value of £2 “not paid for but charged to an account," and several items of foodstuffs. Earlier while inside the T.A.B. office Mrs Stuart had placed a copy of a weekly newspaper and a women’s magazine on the counter while she crossed the office floor to place her bet. When she returned both of these had been taken.
