THIRTEEN HURT IN ROAD ACCIDENTS
Four persons were injured when two cars collided in New Brighton road about 3.35 a.m. yesterday. Stanley David Hudson, of 232 Burwood road, the driver of one car, suffered head and leg injuries. James William Forest, of 8 Shirley road, suffered head, chest, and back injuries. They were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Maureen Gray, of 150 Wainoni road, suffered lacerations to the face, and Noeline Morrow, of 2 Bray street, suffered head and leg injuries. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Cam Hits Pole. — Sharon Anne Barton, of Doyleston, suffered head injuries when a car struck a pole at Doyleston on Saturday afternoon. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Cyclist Injured.— When he fell from a cycle in Linwood avenue, about 30 yards east of Aidwins road, about 12.20 p.m. yesterday, John Charles Klingstenstein, of 41 Olivers road, suffered head injuries.
He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Car Hits Pole.— Two men were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital after a car struck a pole on the Main North road about a quarter of a mile on the Belfast side of the Styx bridge about 11 p.m. on Saturday. Gerald David Plant suffered head and chest injuries, and Francis Alister Searle, suffered head injuries. They are from Burnham Military Camp. Neck Injuries.—David Allan Owen Cooper, of 45 Clare street, suffered neck injuries when a car struck a parked car in Springfield road on Saturday evening. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Power-Cyclist Hurt—When his power-cycle was struck by a car which did not stop in Lincoln road, near Dickens street, about 6.35 p.m. on Saturday, Reginald James Mackie, aged 65, of 39 Clarence street, suffered head and leg injuries. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Constable T. Stuart, of Addington, yesterday questioned a youth about the accident. Cars Collide. Mervyn Green, of 4 Fitzrfly place, suffered head injuries, and Patricia McEneany, of 49 Spencer street, suffered leg injuries, when two cars collided in Lincoln road about 3 a.m. yesterday. They were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Lacerations.—Susan Elizabeth Anderton, of 26 Sawyers Arms road, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for lacerations of the head and leg after two cars collided at the corner of Fitzgerald avenue and Cashel street about 10.30 p.m. on Saturday.
