Cutter To Leave On Pacific Cruise

WHANGAREI, May 28.
The 42ft steel cutter Corsair is due to sail from Whangarei this week-end with 10 persons on board for a cruise in the Pacific.
Two other yachts are due to leave soon for overseas—the American-owned Jinni and the German-owned Mahina. The 53ft ferro-concrete yacht Awhanee, built by Dr. R. L. Griffiths and his wife in nine months near the Auckland harbour bridge, is due at 5 pun. today on a shakedown cruise before leaving for the United States. The Corsair will sail for Suva, and will then go to the New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Cairns, and Sydney before returning home about the end of November. The owners of Corsair are partners, Mrs H. Jones, hairdresser, and Mr H. Leigh, . former road contractor, both of Auckland. The other crew members are Miss J. Eide, a psychiatric nurse, from Coromondel; Miss H. Mehan, a shop assistant, from Grey Lynn, Auckland; Miss B. Aman, an English girl on a working holiday; Mr K. Bassett, a retired businessman, from Hamilton; Mr D. O’Callahan, a radio technician, of Birkenhead, Auck-
