TROTTING Ingleburn Is Likely Kurow Prospect

R. Young could draw level in the lead with M. Holmes on the list of drivers by driving the winners of both legs of the on-course double at the Kurow Trotting Club’s annual meeting at Oamaru tomorrow. Young has been engaged for Ingleburn in the first leg, the Oamaru Handicap, and will handle Adorato, a member of his own team, in the second leg, the Waitaki Handicap.

Young’s other drives during the day include outstanding prospects in Horatius, Don Caesar and Hazard. With average luck he could draw away to the lead on the drivers’ list by the end of the day’s racing.

Ingleburn broke badly just after the start of her race at Washdyke and did well to recover and finish tenth. At her previous start she showed amazing speed to finish third behind Winning Song and Belbay at Oamaru.

Ingleburn has more ability than most in her class, and if she makes a reasonable beginning should be untroubled to win.

Set Sail has been a shade i unlucky in her recent starts, the most recent of which was at Amberley earlier in the month when she finished third to Toff Scott and Lusty Lad. She could be the hardest for Ingleburn to beat. Saracen shaped like an early improver when, at his first race start, he finished fifth over two miles at Washdyke. He should show benefit as a result of that race and could add interest to the finish. Lynnford, Robyn Lee and Void appeal most of the others.

Adorato. a place-getter in four of his last five starts, should gain a deserved win in the Waitaki 1 Handicap. He was a good second to Allakasam at Washdyke at his most recent start, and will have to show very little improvement to win tomorrow. Dryden Smoke has not paced a really bad race in a comparatively brief career. He was a good third at Amberley at his last start and could be hard to beat.

Eudora was an impressive graduate from maiden company at Washdyke recently and showed marked improvement on her earlier racing. She could make a bold showing again. Chief View, Gold Heritage, Monaco Lady and Singing lid are others entitled to consideration. The T.A.B. double will be run on the Kurow Cup and

the Gtematata Handicap. Fair weather is forecast and the track should be in good order.
