GIFTS TO C.O.R.S.O.

School And Church (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 26. The Avonside Girls’ High School, Christchurch, has sent a cheque for £l6O and St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Merivale, Christchurch, a gift of £125 10s for the C.0.R.5.0. Freedom from Hunger Campaign. A Wellington man’s gift today of £lOO brought donations, including the Government’s contribution of £20,000, to £45,255.

This is almost four times the figure for the same period last year and is the greatest contribution in C.0.R.5.0.’s history before a national cash appeal, C.0.R.5.0. said. Other large gifts within the last few days include £2OO from a woman in Napier, £135 from a woman in Auckland, £lOO from a woman in Nelson and £lOO from a man in Dunedin.
