Sumner Lifeboat

Sir, —1 have just read the annual report of the Sumner Lifeboat Institute. Truly “S.OS.” means many things. 1 noticed that six persons—two youths and four men—were rescued, and many more deeds were required of the lifeboat’s crew last season. I am proud to be an institute member, and I appeal to all. mothers and fathers of Canterbury to join the institute and help meet the cost of maintaining the lifeboat. Don’t wait until your own son is saved by the lifeboat/—Yours, etc., A MOTHER’S PLEA. May 26, 1965.
