POLICE PAY
May Be New Authority
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 24. I The Government is considering establishing a new authority to review police pay and conditions. ! The Minister of Police (Mr I Allen), is planning legislation [which could be before Parliament this session.
I Mr Allen said at the weekend he had been approached by the Police Association to set up the authority. He said he thought the authority might comprise a magistrate as chairman, a Government nominee and a member of either the Police Association or Police Officers’! Guild.
