3d In The £ Suggested (N.Z. Press Association > ROTORUA, May 10. A separate education tax was advocated today by the chairman of the Rotorua' High Schools Board (Dr. G. Townsend). He told the annual conference of the Rotorua region of the Post-Primary Teachers’ Association that while education was tied to the Treasury, it was not getting true value and long-range planning was impossible. There appeared to be justification for an education tax. “After all." he said, “the consumer should pay. The amount doesn’t matter—say 3d in the £."
