Protest Fast Allowed

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, May 7. Demonstrators who want to fast as a protest against United States policy in Vietnam may camp for a week outside the Methodist Central Mission in Queen street. This has been agreed to by the Auckland City Council. No meeting of the council was called, but a telephone check on as many members as possible was made because the fast will begin on Monday and last about a week. Demonstrators will be allowed to use the ground between the building and the fountain. Equipment used will be banners, sleeping bags and a cask of water.
