Cold Day

The weather in Christchurch yesterday returned to winter conditions with a partly cloudy sky and a cold south-westerly wind. The temperature at Harewood at 9 a.m. was 44 degrees, and at noon it was 51 degrees, the maximum of 52 degrees being recorded at 2 p.m. A temperature of 51 degrees was recorded at the Botanic Gardens at 3 p.m., and the indicator on the Government Life building registered 51 degrees at 4.15 pjn.
