Auckland Levy On Ratepayers (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 6. By 15 votes to one the Auckland City Council today decided that all its ratepayers must contribute equally to paying the Auckland Regional Authority’s levy for losses on public transport.
The council met to decide on either a uniform levy for all ratepayers or a sliding scale based on whether ratepayers were within areas served by public transport. The levy for the 10 local bodies totals £228,420 to cover the estimated loss on public transport this year.
