Competitions Entries
The 2780 entries received for the Christchurch Competitiors Society’s annual festival to be held from May 8 to May 15 exceed by 103 those of last year. Nearly 200 more entries have been received for the ballet and tap-dancing section—7sl compared with 556. Increased entries have also been received in the speech section—4B4 compared with 461—and in the group entertainment section, where there are eight, compared with five.
Sections in which entries have declined are:—Vocal, 462 (532); piano accordion, 87 (110): piano. 379 (418): and national dancing 511 (595).
