RESOLUTION: That formal application be made to the Local Authorities Loans Board for permission to raise the sum of Twenty-seven thousand pounds (£27,000) for the purpose of constructing a reservoir near Cressy terrace, and the laying of new water mains in the western portion of the Borough of Lyttelton under the following terms and conditions: ' 1. The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be twenty years. 2. The rate of Interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates not exceeding five and one quarter per cent per annum. 3. The said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or halfyearly instalments extending over the term as determined in Clause I hereof. 4. The payment of all such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. 5. The rate payable for brokerage in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not exceed one half per cent of any amount raised. 6. No money shall be borrowed after the expiration of three years from the date hereof. 7. Such further conditions as are stipulated in the attached letter from the Local Authorities Loans Board dated March 24, 1965. A poll of Ratepayers is required to be taken if five per cent of the Ratepayers of the District so demand, by writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the Lyttelton Borough Council and received at the office of the Lyttelton Borough Council not later than May 23, 1965.
