N.Z. PAPER LOSS
Big Recovery In Half-Year (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 28. A strong profit recovery in the last six months has reduced New Zealand Paper Mills’ loss to £2636 in the year to March 31, say directors in a preliminary report. Subject to audit, the accounts for the six months to March 31 reveal a profit of £24,404, after provision of £70,242 for depreciation. A loss of £27,040 was made in the first half-year. Depreciation for the year is £3690 higher at £143,742. Last year a loss of £63,675 was made and before that the loss was £54,826. In 1962, the last year a dividend was paid, a profit of £29,811 was made after stock revaluation. No mention of a dividend for the latest year is mentioned in the preliminary report.
