PETROL PUMP LICENCE

Cranford Street Section The Motor Spirits Licensing Authority has granted the application of Mr P. J. Midgley for a licence to retail motor spirits from two pumps to be installed at a proposed service station at 504 Cranford street. Members of the authority at present sitting in Christchurch are Mr J. Bain, chairman. and Messrs F. S. Taylor and H. Wise. Mr H. W. Hunter appeared for Midgley. Objections to the granting of the application were lodged by Midway Service Station, Ltd., and Cambridge Service, Ltd. (both represented by Mr G. S. Brockett), C. D. Beatson Ltd., trading as Supreme Service Station Ltd. (Mr R. de R. Flesher) and Cranford Motors Ltd. (Mr R. J. De Goldi). Mr J. O. Upton, of Wellington, appeared for the New Zealand Motor Traders’ Association. The authority, after a public inquiry, has revoked the motor spirits retailer’s licence of K. J. Dell, of Little Akaloa.
