FLIGHT TO U.S.

Officer Cadets In R.N.Z.A.F. Fourteen members of two Royal New Zealand Air Force university officer cadet courses will leave Wigram early tomorrow morning on the first stage of a flight which will take them to the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, where they will spend about nine days. The cadets, who are attending courses at the University of Canterbury, will board an R.N.Z.A.F. DC3 for Whenuapai. and later in the day will leave in one of the new Hercules for the flight to the United States. It will be the first flight overseas by an R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules. After reaching Colorado Springs, the Hercules will fly to Britain. It will pick un the cadets on its way back to New Zealand. The Director of Training for the R.N.Z.A.F. (Group Captain A. P. Gainsford) and Squadron Leader R. G. Archer will accompany the party. Group Captain Gainsford will be in charge of the group. Squadron Leader Archer is in charge of cadet training.
