FORD SALES RECORD
First Quarter Of 1965 (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DETROIT, April 26. The Ford Motor Company today announced a record profit of 200 million dollars for the first quarter of 1965. Sales during the three months at 2900 million dollars was also a record. The previous record for any quarter was 180 million dollars on sales of 2700 million dollars. World-wide sales of cars, trucks and tractors for the three months of 1965 were also a record at 1,192,825 unitsBoth U.S. and foreign sales were records for any quarter. In the U.S., Ford sold 807,576 units, 21 per cent higher than the 668,662 unit sales in the first quarter of 1964. Factory sales by foreign subsidiaries were 385.249 units, compared with 332,731 units in the first quarter of 1964. The company statement gave no details for its overseas subsidiaries.
