AUCKLAND. April 27.
Life is beginning anew at 70 for a Wellington businessman, Mr A. W. Duncan, who is retiring as managing director of McKenzies, Ltd, to start business as a public accountant. . But he admits he is branching into accountancy on his own behalf mainly to administer his business commitments. Mr Duncan joined McKenzies as financial director in 1936 when it operated -9 stores. Today the orgamsa-
tion has 50 stores throughout the country and is still grow, ing. He became general manager in 1938 and after the death of Sir John McKenzie in 1955 he was appointed managindirector. The present general manager, Mr H. Carter, will now control the business. Mr Duncan was appointed personal trustee of the s r John McKenzie trusts, whim have now paid more than £450.000 to charitable and worth-while organisations.
