Bottle-Washing Machine

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, April 16. A £50,000 bottle-washing machine that can handle 24,000 bottles an hour will be shipped to New Zealand Breweries, Ltd., Auckland, by a British manufacturer next month.

The British Information Service, announcing this today, said the 135-ton machine had been manufactured by Dawson Brothers, of Leeds, Yorkshire.

The machine, 62 feet long, 18 feet wide and 10 feet high, is the biggest of its type to be built in Britain. Packed in six crates, it is due to reach Auckland early in May. Last year, Dawson Brothers supplied a fully-automatic dairy bottling line for the Dunedin milk treatment station.
