Fees Of £533 Cut By £52

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 16. A claim by Robinson and Morgan-Coakle, solicitors, for fees and disbursements totalling £533 4s against Paul Piacun, a farmer, a former client of the late Michael Robinson, has been reduced by £52 10s by Mr Justice Richmond. But in a 19,000 word, 46page reserved judgment his Honour has rejected allegations of negligence made by Piacun against Robinson. His Honour has also rejected Piacun’s counterclaim against the law firm for £9502 Ils lid. The claim for fees was commenced in August, 1961, and that this, together with the statement of defence and counter-claim had been the subject of a “great number of interlocutory applications.” Robinson acted for Piacun in protracted proceedings arising from a dispute among members of the Piacun family concerning a farm occupied by Ante Piacun who died intestate in September, 1957.
