ELECTRA BOUGHT
Qantas Sale To Air N.Z.

Air New Zealand has purchased a Qantas Electra to replace the Electra lost in a training flight at Auckland last month. The Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McAlpine) said today the aircraft would be delivered on April 18.
He said the cost of the aircraft and a few modifications to meet Air New Zealand requirements would be covered by the insurance recovered on the lost Electra.
Fire Destroys Station (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, April 14 The Awarua railway station, 10 miles from Invercargill on the Invercargill-Bluff line, was destroyed by fire early this morning. When the Invercargill Fire Brigade arrived the building was alight from “cne end to the other.”
