“Better, But Not End”
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 13. The Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) said today that the new hours of waterfront work were “not the end of the road.” "There is a long way to go yet.” he said. "This is only the first stage in trying to establish better industrial relations on the water front.” But he believed the new hours were an improvement! on the former system. “Men can do more and; better work in a 10-hour day with two breaks than they; could hope to do with the ■ previous hours.”
