Quiet 73rd Birthday
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 13. The retired Australian musical comedy star and singer, Miss Gladys Moncrieff, today quietly celebrated her 73rd birthday at her home at Bellevue Hill, an exclusive eastern suburb. Miss Moncrieff said she certainly didn’t feel 73. “It’s a long way to look back on, I suppose, and I’ve got lots of wonderful memories,” she said.
“My sister, who lives with me, has been very ill and there will be no party. It will be a very quiet day—not a big party like some I had when I was in the theatre.”
