Malan May Not Tour
(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) JOHANNESBURG, April 13. Avril Malan, captain of the South African Rugby team now touring Ireland and Scotland, may not be available for the longer tour to Australia and New Zealand later this year, according to the Johannesburg Afrikaans daily, “Die Transvaler.”
The report says that when Malan returns from Britain “he will have to choose between accepting a special post ■which is being created by his employers (Union Steel Corporation) or going on tour.” Malan a consultant engineer, “is at the crossroads of his career,” the paper says.
