Port Train Deputation
To get hold of the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) while he was in Christchurch was harder than trying to get into a synagogue, Cr. W. B. Laing told the monthly meeting of the Heathcote County Council last evening. The council decided to try to get a deputation of the parties interested in the curtailed Christchurch-Lyttelton train services, to meet Mr McAlpine. Cr. Laing said the train cuts were drastic, especially on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
