FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone in the south Tasman Sea is moving towards the country. Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura Coast.—Winds mainly moderate and variable; south-westerlies fresh for a time in exposed positions; cloudy at first, with a few scattered showers; partly cloudy, rather cool later. Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate variable winds, apart from southerlies, fresh at times, about the Sounds; partly cloudy, with moderate day temperatures. Buller and Westland. —A few areas of low cloud or fog clearing this morning; otherwise fine, with light winds; moderate day temperatures.
