Buses Will Stop In Christchurch
Christchurch would be without bus services when drivers attended a stop-work meeting, said the secretary of the Christchurch Tramway Workers’ Union (Mr L. C. J. Southon) vesterdav.
T he day when the meeting would be held had not been decided yet, but it
would be either tomorrow, Thursday, or early next week after the Easter holidays, possibly Tuesday, he said.
If the meeting was in the morning, there would probably be no buses from the time the morning shift was due to begin (between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.) and the time the meeting finished, said Mr Southon. If the meeting was in the afternoon, there would prob-
| ably be no buses from the I time the main afternoon shift I was due to begin (between 2 {p.m. and 4 p.m.) and the i time the meeting finished. Mr Southon said the time |of the Christchurch meeting 'depended on the itinerary of {the secretary of the New Zealand Tramway Workers' ; Union (Mr P. A. Hansen). It was expected Mr Hansen would address stop-work e meetings in Dunedin, possibly today, and in Invercar-
gill tomorrow. Mr Hansen would probably visit Christchurch after Invercargill.
