Major-General H. M. Liardet, commandant of the Royal Tank Regiment, arrived in Auckland in the Oriana yesterday on a four-day visit to New Zealand.—(P.A.)
Members of the board of managers of the Christchurch Technical High School stood in silence last evening to pay tribute to Mr F. L. Langley, a member of the board who died recently. A similar tribute was paid at a meeting of the board of managers of the Christchurch Technical Institute.
Mr I. Jackson was appointed parents’ representative on the board of managers of the Christchurch Technical High School at a meeting of the board last evening. Mr H. E. Taylor, an inspector of schools in Christchurch for about seven years, has been appointed one of the senior inspectors working from Christchurch.
