Whineray Decides

AUCKLAND. April 4.

W. J. Whineray, the All Black captain from 1958 to 1964. who temporarily retired from all except club games last season, will be available for all first-class Rugby, including matches against the Springboks, this season. Whineray said after his first club game of the season on Saturday: “I will be available for any team I am chosen for."

Tonight, Whineray said that he was satisfied with his form and felt “quite fit” for he had been in full training for some time in anticipation of playing big Rugby again. “1 feel pretty good, and 1 think the lay-off may have sharpened my appetite for the game.”
