FLOODLIT FINAL

Gty Aiming At Treble

Christchurch City will be aiming at a pre-season soccer treble at McGregors road tonight when it plays Shamrock in the final of the Rangers floodlit tournament.

This year City has already won the indoor series major league and the Mercer Cup knock-out, and went through 10 matches indoors with an unbeaten record. In the floodlit tournament so far City has accounted for Nomads and Western, while Shamrock has overcome High School Old Boys and Technical.

In opposing camps tonight will be two strong men— City’s professional coach, G. Evans, and Shamrock’s captain, H. Taylor. Although Taylor and his team will fight to the finish City must start favourite to take its third title, and win the first prize of £2O. In the early match (6.45 p.m.) for third place, the beaten semi-finalists, Technical Old Boys and Western, will meet.
