Average Of 44.13 d (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 29. Average price a pound for greasy wool sold at New Zealand auctions in the eight months to February 28 was 44.13 d, reports the New Zealand Wool Commission.
This compares with 56.46 d a pound for the same eight months of last season. It is a reduction of £l6 a bale—down from £7B 6s lOd to £6l 12s sd.
So far this season, 855,984 bales (286,849.334 lb last season), valued at £52,747,164, of greasy wool have been sold at auction compared with 915,349 bales (304.944.6181 b valued at £71,711,278 last year.
, During the period, 16,867 bales (4,410,3071 b of scoured wool valued at £1,110,637 has been sold at auction compared with 15,402 bales (3.984,9941 b valued at £L220,413 ■ year ago.
