Messages Of Sympathy
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 29. The Governor-General has sent the following message to the private secretary to the Queen: “We in New Zealand have learned with deep sorrow of the death of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal. On behalf of the Government and people, I would ask that our respectful sympathy be conveyed to Her Majesty and to the family of Her Royal Highness."
The Princess Royal was president in Britain of the Girl Guides’ Association. Lady Fergusson, as Dominion president, has sent the following telegram to the Girl Guide headquarters in London: “As president of the association in New Zealand, I send deep sympathy from all connected with the movement on the death of Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal. The active participation of Her Royal Highness in the work of the association over many years has been an inspiration to guides throughout the Commonwealth.”
