Americans Win Sebring Race
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SEBRING (Florida). March 29. The Americans, Jim Hali and Hap Sharp, have been officially confirmed as winners of the Sebring 12-hour endurance motor race. Official results showed they averaged 84.723 miles an hour over 196 laps in their Chev-rolet-powered Chaparral, with automatic transmission.
On one of the tricky 5.2mile circuits, the car also set a lap record of 2min 59.35ec for an average speed of 104.41 miles an hour.
