CLEARANCE ORDERED
Mohi Appeals Against Club
The Marist Rugby League Club will be asked to forward a clearance for M. H. Mohi, who wishes to transfer to the Papanui Club. The Canterbury board of control last evening received an appeal by Mohi against Marist’s decision to refuse him a transfer.
J. Hawthorne was granted a transfer from Christchurch to Papanui provided that he stood down for four club-playing Saturdays as stipulated by the new constitution. P. P. Hughey (Marist to Christchurch) and I. Woods (Halswell to Hornby) were also suspended for four dub-playing Saturdays. Several players were granted unconditional transfers because they had not played an average of one match In three for their old clubs during the last 12 months. They were J. M. Westwood (Runanga to Addington), E. Brown (Shirley to Addington). O. Stuart (Hornby to Addington) and R. Harris (Linwood to Kaiapol). The former Kiwi, J. E. Bond, 1 was granted a transfer to play for Kalapoi without suspension when the Marist Club indicated that there was no prospect of his playing for that club. G. Teaho was granted a transfer to play for Addington on loan without suspension because his former club, Shirley, was not fielding a senior reserve team this year. However, should Shirley find a senior reserve team the transfer would be rescinded.
