Time And Tide At Rosehill CN.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) SYDNEY. The champion sprinter. Time and Tide, outclassed a field of highly-rated rivals to win the Rawson Stakes of seven and a half furlongs at Rosehill on Saturday. On a fast track. Time and Tide equalled the race record time of 1:29.4.
Backed from 5 to 4 on to 2 to 1 on, Time and Tide careered away to win by six lengths, with Strauss and Cele's Image filling the minor piacings.
Time and Tide has now been made outright favourite for the first leg of the Doncaster-Sydney Cup double. The Doncaster, of one mile, will be run on Easter Saturday, with the Sydney Cup run on Easter Monday.
Another easy winner at Rosehill was tlie three-year-old Marco Polo II gelding. Victory Boy, which won the 10-furlong Auburn Stakes.
